Loveumentary Founder Nate Bagley Selected as First Winner of the Pitchmyhouse.com Contest for 2014 SXSW Interactive

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Loveumentary 600x600February 14, 2014 – San Francisco, CA – After receiving the initial round of entries for Pitchmyhouse.com, the first winner has been selected. Just in time for Valentine’s day, the first winner is Nate Bagley, founder of The Loveumentary and UnboxLove.com.

The concept behind the contest was to pitch Austin home owner Anne A. Ward with a plan to promote her mobile marketing blog at SXSW Interactive 2014. The person(s) with the best pitch will be declared the winner and will get to stay at her house for free during SXSW.

“I’ve spent the last year of my life traveling around the country documenting the most amazing stories of true love in the country,” Bagley said. “MobileFOMO’s PitchMyHouse at SXSW is the place where connection is made, and relationships are formed, and I couldn’t be more excited to attend.”

“I am excited about this year’s responses already!” Anne A. Ward, contest creator and editor-in-chief at MobileFOMO went on to comment. “I am truly excited to be hosting Nate this year and we have some pretty awesome promotions planned.”

The contest is still open and entries must be submitted by March 1, 2014. Teams of up to six are allowed to enter, but the majority of entries thus far have ranged in size from about 1 to 3 people. This year the contest is limited to only the Interactive portion of the festival from March 7-11. As far as pitches, the most “out there” pitches were for free Maine lobsters and one was for a personal bagpiper.

There has been increasing criticism by the media that SXSW has become too commercial. Pitchmyhouse.com is an attempt to move away from the traditional schtick at the festival. The pitch my house contest was designed to spark creativity while providing a practical service, a place to stay. A major reason people do not attend SXSW is the expense and inconvenience of hotel accommodations in Austin.

“After the overwhelming success of 2013′s pitch my house contest, it will definitely be an annual event,” Ward responded when asked about the future of the pitchmyhouse.com contest. “I’m excited to be working with Nate and the rest of the MobileFOMO team at SXSW, this year will be epic.”

About MobileFOMO

MobileFOMO began in November of 2012 when founder Anne A. Ward noticed that most online tech magazines covering ‘mobile’ are covering the basic aspects such as hardware, apps, etc. We think this coverage is great, but there is a whole world of possibility out there for the mobile marketer of today. FOMO has got your back. MobileFOMO was founded in late 2012 with the assumption that mobile marketing is going to be big (it already is) and we don’t want anyone to feel held back by a Fear Of Missing Out, aka FOMO. Forming a mobile marketing strategy has many facets to it and we are here to help.
